More Lent pictures Day 2

Lent - Ash Wednesday

Okay this is a bit of a cheat but a couple of years ago I did a series of pictures throughout a season of Lent.  They are totally digital and owe a lot to Stanley Spencer's paintings of Christ in the Wilderness and Si Smith's '40'.  (Google it!)  Anyway here is the first.

Making An Exhibition of Myself

Just to announce a mini exhibition of scans of sketchbook pen and ink drawings at St Michael's on now!  Pop in and enjoy.

Different Viewpoint

This is Adam he's the new Youth/Outreach worker! He introduced himself to us. He is from Ireland!

Some pencil work not sure if it improves my portraiture but is more forgiving than the brushpen so no excuses really!  Still... maybe I should offer prizes for recognition of my subjects.

Okay I broke every last church rule there is and sat on the other side of the church last week!  Yes I know! What was I thinking - well obviously I wasn't!  Sorry!

What to do in a sermon?

Noughts and Crosses! Of course - actually I'm guessing it was Noughts and Crosses (Tic-tac-toe american friends) but it could have been Squares, Sudoko or some other sermon activity - what's your favourite - me I draw!  But I do listen honest, I have this trouble in my other job when I doodle - non doodlers find it hard to understand that the act of doodling actually improves uptake of information.  I think that's a scientific fact or if it isn't it should be!

Well had a bit of a break over Christmas but did manage this sketch during the Christmas morning service.

And a mother and baby picture seemed appropriate somehow.
